Classes & Groups

Groups and classes are offered to help people learn more about themselves, develop relationships, and share their experiences with others. Pre-registration is required for classes and groups.

Listed are some of the groups Living Success Center has offered in the past. The availability of a specific group or class  will depend on the number of clients interested and the availability of qualified instructors.

Keeping Your Head Above Water
A support group for loved ones who have been diagnosed with a serious illness.

Family Connections
A skills-based program that offers a lifeline to families facing Borderline Personality Disorder.
The National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder invites you to attend a 12 week course.

September 21st –  December 14, 2017
Thursdays from 7 – 9pm

Course content:
– Research-based program typically taught as a 12 week course
– Education & Research on BPD
– Skills training for families based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy
– Relationship Mindfulness
– Effective Communication
– Validation
– Development of a Support Network

Important: This workshop is NOT open to people who suffer from BPD, only to family members and close friends.
Space is limited and registration is first-come, first serve.
A voluntary $50 donation is requested. No one will be turned away for financial reasons.

Coping With Crisis Workshop
The Living Success Center is starting a Coping with Crisis Workshop in an effort to help manage stress from violence in the world, financial insecurities or other stressors creating fear and anxiety. The 8-week workshop is for adults wanting to learn to cope with these difficult feelings. It will be held on Saturday mornings from 9-11 starting March 5. The cost is $10 a session and a discounted fee of $70 is offered if paying for the whole series on the first session.

Parenting Skills Class

This 8-week program is designed to teach parenting skills using The Parent’s Handbook – Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) as a guide. This method encourages mutual respect between the parent and child and teaches children cooperation, responsibility and self-reliance.

Women’s Group

This is a small supportive group in which women can discuss a variety of subjects including interpersonal relations, self-esteem, asserting oneself, parenting, sexuality, women’s rights, and other issues.
